Checkmate Special Edition Tidbit

You know, one thing I regret not doing in the Checkmate 'verse is have someone hold John the wrong way, maybe with his legs dangling and facing outward, just hanging there. And he'd look at Rodney with big, "buddy, you gotta help me here," eyes and horizontal "WTF?" ears. For some reason, it's someone they can't let know that John is John. And he accidentally ended up in the conference room or something, taking a nap, and the Pasheka of PX9-654 is cooing over him, but making sure that his claws don't snag her outfit.

And Rodney, already twitching at the indignity and someone else touching John, would hiss, "Yes, yes, let me just take him for you." (You philistine.) and bundle John up in his arms and stalk off, muttering dire imprecations about idiots who can't keep their hands to themselves while his gentle fingers make doubly sure that John's unhurt.

And John would hitch himself up with his chin over Rodney's shoulder, snuggle in and smile and purr and smile. Also, he'd give as much of a "so there" face to whoever was holding him before, as much of one as he could with a kitty face.

Now, I'll get back to the other two stories I'm working on, now that this is out of my system. Three stories. Um. Four? Let's face it, the writing, she has been slow of late.
