Today’s filled with so much fun and excitement for two main reasons: the majority of year 10 went on an excursion to UNSW to experience a life in a day as a university student, and moreover - IT’S MY BIRTHDAY (Yes - I’m finally sixteen!) !!!
While sitting on the train this morning, I patiently waited for my friends to hop on. When I realised I couldn’t see them, I followed Nikki’s direction, which led me both to my magnificent friends and an entire chorus of awesome people singing “Happy Birthday”! My friends were so loud (but chirpy), that everyone in that train carriage looked in my direction. Sophia handed me my birthday present. It was a neat diary and a cute springy pencil!
I was serenaded with the song of “Happy Birthday” multiple times within the day! I would attempt to count the number of times I was ambushed, except I’ve lost count already! I loved it whenever my friends sang the song to me! It made me feel so special!
On the bus towards the way to the university, Parul presented me with a gorgeous card she made for me! Many fantastic people had written in a message for me in the card! I’m going to keep the card forever! It’s truly priceless!
Upon reaching the university, we forwarded off to collect our nametags which allocated each of us with our different courses for that day. I had science first, then arts and eventually medicine. I found medicine to be the most informative session!
Between arts and medicine, we had a lunch break, where the university provided us with a packed lunch consisting of a large muffin, a sandwich (in whatever flavour we chose), a packet of chips, a fruit, and a drink.
I honestly don’t know why I was filled with so much enthusiasm today. I was hyperactive during most of the day! I teased Alice, squeezed people’s cheeks, and couldn’t wipe off that smile from my face! Actually it’s not only today, but during this whole week so far, I’ve been so happy with everything (even though I’m getting a really bad tan from the Bronze Medallion swimming course)!
The downside of the day was when Ms Ejsak gave the entire bus a lecture because someone in the bus had a paper fight on the way to the university. Then on the trip back to school, I attempted to get some beauty sleep (no - I’m just joking), but unfortunately it just wouldn’t come to me because I was too busy thinking about everything…
I want to truly thank my friends for being such inspiring people and for making my birthday such a memorable one! Many people look forever to find friends like you guys, and I’m fortunate enough to have so many of you! I love you all A LOT! MWAH!
