Botcon Adventures: Part I
Wow I haven't updated this journal in forever. Shame on me. Bad Bunny, bad.
So yeah I went on a journey a few weeks ago. A journey to California. To Botcon 2011. c:
I flew from Florida on May 28th, changing planes in Memphis, TN. I kinda forgot this city was in a different time zone. Whoops. Took pictures on the planes I rode on.
Then I traveled to Denver where Silverphantom and deathzero5 picked me up from the airport to meet up with toonqueen back at their place. A few days later our buddy humblebot flew in to Colorado as well.
Oh before I forget! I gots presents! I love my friends! They're so awesome! :D deathzero5 gave me the totally adorable Thumper plushie. He's so soft. c: toonqueen got me the little monster bunnies, the tiny TFA Optimus, a bunny charm and the super cool bunny chopsticks. ocelli gave me the cutest robot plate on the planet. I will cherish my gifts forever. o3o
On May 31st we started our roadtrip to California. I had never been to California before so this would be a pretty exciting adventure for me. :3 Took us about 16 hours to travel to Pasadena. About 8 hours each day. Took a pitstop in Utah. The next day we killed some time by taking a detour to Las Vegas. It was cool seeing it again. The 5 of us went inside the Luxor Casino for lunch and shopping fun. I had no idea there was a whole mall in that giant glass pyramid. Shame that the gift shop was closed, I wanted some cool Egyptian goodies to bring home. Oh well. |D
We hit the road again and finally made it to Pasadena, CA at our hotel, the Westin. Where we met up with amidoh , gs_disaronno , and Harmony, who hooked us all up with a room there. The next day ocelli came. And finally our Botcon posse' was complete. The next few days we all did some exploring around Pasadena. Anywhere that was walking distance from the hotel. Found this wicked cool shop called Gold Bug. I totally splurged my money there. I couldn't help it. xD Got the most gorgeous pinned butterflies. I love them so much. :3
Finally June 4th had arrived. The first day of Botcon! Yay! C: ocelli and I dressed up as My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic characters: Fluttershy and her bunny sidekick Angel. Silverphantom and toonqueen dressed up as humanized Drift and Perceptor.
There were transformers cars parked outside the convention center. G1 Ratchet was there. Hell yeah the party van! Of course Ravage had to hitch a ride on his roof. lol. Movie Bumblebee was also there and so was G1 Trailbreaker. Poor guy had a handicap decal on his rear view mirror. Aww Trailbreaker. Last but not least, KITT from Knight Rider showed up. He talked and stuff. :3
There was lots to do there on Saturday. This was the first year I bought an autograph band. I made sure I got lots of autographs to get my money's worth. :3 Went to a few panels. Caught the tail end of the TF comic panel. Shopped in the dealers room for about an hour and then waited near the front of the line for the Transformers Prime panel and got all my buddies good seats for it. Yay. C: It was very entertaining. Jeffery Combs was the best. I love Ratchet. He's so grumpy and awesome. <3 Afterwards ocelli and I waited in line to get autographs from the TFP voiceactors. While in line we spotted Paul Eiding and I asked for his autograph, since I didn't get a chance last year. He was such a nice guy. Then I got autographs from Bulkhead and Miko's VAs. Ocelli was awesome enough to get me a copy of Steve Blum's autograph. What a bro. :D
