Food and plant

For whatever reasons, I decided to attempt making pot pies and a quiche. So I made these:

They are beef pot pies and spinach/mushroom quiche. I even made the crust myself! Lesson learned: even though it looks like an insane amount of butter, it's essential to make the crust buttery and flaky when done.

Here they are baking in my sister's convection oven.

And.... here they are DONE!

There is no need to wonder how they taste. I'll tell you. They taste pretty mediocre. Not good at all. I'll try better next time, I guess... but for the time being I ate most of them.

I bought these cheap seeds and container from Target $1 spot and I planted about 10 lavender seeds. Only one emerge from their fatty seedy stage into a sprout. Behold my beloved!

Look at it! Does it look like it's opening its "arms" wide to say "HELLO WORLD! I HAVE ARRIVED!" ... and guess what? I'm saying "WELCOME, LUV, I SHALL CARE FOR YOU!" It already developed a second set of leaves! How wonderful! As of right now, the roots are about 2 times longer than its height above ground and span about the same distance that the leaves span. Oh previous sprout of leaves, how I adore you!

I went to the park the other day and saw these people riding in cupcake carts!!!!! Look! I'm not lying!

Oh, and while I was stuck at a red light, I was overwhelmed by the below cloud. So taken was I by this that I pulled out the camera and captured my feelings. Obviously, I'm a terrible photographer so I couldn't transcend my feelings from the photo here... But I'll post it here to remind myself of that awed sensation.
