I Need Mittens

Jan 24, 2008 11:32

I didn't go walking this morning. I have this cut-off temperature. If the wind chill is 20° below zero or colder, I don't walk. Of course, I decided on that cut-off temperature using the old wind chill calculations. I'm really not sure how that compares to the current way they figure wind chill. Anyone? I bet
bassnote  would know this one.

I did go out a little later and shovel the driveway, so I got my exercise that way. It wasn't really deep or anything, just a thin layer of snow covering everything. I usually like to shovel before anyone drives on it, because cars driving over snow pack that snow down and make it really hard to shovel. A lot of the driveway was this packed down hard to get rid of snow. I did the best I could, but my fingers were really freezing. My gloves just are not warm enough. Mittens. I definitely need mittens.

After shoveling, I came in and had oatmeal for breakfast, thanks to
trexphile  for mentioning it. I love oatmeal. I just don't always think about it, but it was definitely a good breakfast to warm up after being outside in the cold.  It was all yummy with brown sugar, raisins, and cinnamon.

snow, cold, walking
