I am at Calvin Crest in California, near Oakhurst. It's really beautiful up here. There are tons of trees in this beautiful setting and we get to stay in a really nice ski lodge type place. Class is amazing, but long and tiring. I have learned so much already- I can kinda half save people ( Read more... )

Ohmigoodness . . . you have seen far more interesting stuff than I ever got to on ride-alongs. My paramedic class included (well, for the most part). I'm so glad you're having fun!!!!
A little hint for the in-field assesments (if you haven't already figured it out): make a SOAP-note cheat sheet, as in, write down headings and leave blanks for all the vitals, SAMPLE, and SOAP, then wrap it in clear contact paper or packaging tape, and get yourself a dry erase marker (or a permanent one, so long as you have some windex or acetone to get it off again) = reusable SOAP pad! YAY!! (I always had trouble with mine getting all soggy in the rain/snow/mud when I used ballpoint pens and paper).
Hope you're having fun . . . that experience was so amazing. I don't know who you're instructors are, but if one happens to be a tallish guy named Mike from Alaska with a big bushy mustache, please give him a big hug for me and tell him I'm in paramedic school :)
Love you sweetie -- so sorry we weren't able to connect before I left.

Sadly, we don't have the same instructor, but all three of mine are super awesome. That SOAP pad idea is really cool, but there is no snow here right now, so it hasn't been an issue. But if it starts snowing... I'll know what to do.

I hope you get that paper under control... sounds pretty narly.

Take care. Call if you need.

You didn't get shot in Fresno because since they put in speed bumps all the Mexican's lowered cars can't drive to half the city. True story.
