I just could not be bothered to get up this morning in time for the ferry to Delos. It's not that I was out that late last night (got in ~01:00), but between the fairly poor bed and all of the physical activity of the previous day (dancing, an interesting hike, both of which more later, and did the walk from the new place twice, and ye gods is that a steep and long trek on the way up), I was just tired and aching when my alarm went off, and I decided to sleep some more.
I hiked from Plato Garia (sp?) Beach to Psaru beach the long way, which was via the rocky coast, and involved death-defying acts of nimbleness on my part, since these were fairly stable but still loose rocks about 200 feet above the water, which was itself infested with still more rocks at an appallingly shallow depth. But I made it, and the difference between the beaches was...minimal. The second was actually more crowded and smaller, but the sand was better, and it wasn't nearly as choppy - the water was actually quite calm.
The dancing was done at a bar called Down Under. It didn't really get lively until a group of huge Aussies showed up and literally picked everyone up and put them on the dance floor. Quite entertaining, and I got to shake my booty a bit, until I left at a sensible hour (00:30, for the 30-min climb) to get to bed for my ill-fated Delos journey. Oh, well.
There's a bit more to say, but my 15 min are up and the next series of buses to the beach are about to arrive. Stay tuned...
