I'm Back!

Well, I survived another month of medicine!  It was a long month, as they usually are, and I had the extra call, but now it's over and that makes me happy!  As usual, I didn't enjoy the month but I DID learn a lot and met a few interesting people.  I will say that I've decided Medicine months aren't good for my health.  I had two bad colds this month (I usually get about 2 a YEAR), my acne is acting up and I've lost weight secondary to the fact that I have been regularly skipping meals due to being too busy to take the time to eat.  The last effect is a good one...I could stand to lose some weight.  But doing it this way is not the healthiest method!  At any rate, it is done, and I've got a lovely 3 day weekend ahead of me!

This coming month should be a good one.  My rotation is out patient peds, which is all clinic work.  I have 2 calls all month, I think and only 1 weekend where I have any responsibilities, and it's just a Saturday Clinic (which is just Saturday morning).  Plus we are doing our big boundary waters trip with our good friends from the 15th to the 18th.  I'm really looking forward to that....I've never been there before and I think I'm really going to love it.  Mark and I just ordered a bunch of stuff from CampMor for the trip including camp dishes, pots and pans, good rain gear, and a small portable lantern.  Mark got a new sleeping bag from me for his birthday (which is today).  We are slowing amassing quite the camping gear collection, which is good.  Then, after we get back from the Boundary Waters, my parents will be in town on and off for about 10 days.  I'm really excited to see them and show them around Duluth.  Plus, we are doing a dinner with my parents and Mark's parents, so that will be interesting.

And the last big bit of news...Mark and I are moving in together!  We've been dating for over a year now and decided that it was time to take the relationship to the next level.  We are moving into a newly renovated duplex in a very cute residential neighborhood in Duluth.  A lot of the residents live in the same area.  We move in October 1st.  I'll be sure to post pictures when everything is in and set up!

That's about it from here!  It's good to be back and hopefully you'll be hearing more from me this month!  Have a good and safe Labor Day Weekend!
