The ocean lapped at her ankles and suddenly everything was right with the world, she was once again connected with the world. She closed her eyes and let the sounds of the sea overtake her. Laughing brought her out of her daydream and she turned to see Matt and Al walking towards her. They knew where to find her of course, whenever she was missing (along with Al's car) she was always at the same strip of beach. It didn't matter the weather or the season, if she was missing she was at the beach.
She didn't bother speaking, just slowly walked backwards farther and farther into the ocean. The water wasn't a bad temperature, not too cold, but that wasn't what she was enjoying the most it was being back in the water that was the best part. Michele beckoned them to join her in the ocean, when they did she suddenly felt connected to them. It was more than the sibling bond that grew over the years, she could feel their life force.
"Chele what are you doing here?" It was late and most of the beach goers had already gone. She ignored his call until she was waist deep and let herself fall backwards into the water. The plunge was, for lack of a better word, beautiful. Water surrounded her completely and she stayed under until her lungs burned with lack of oxygen.
Or she would have if Matt and Al didn't pull her out of the water frantically. They yelled, or scolded lightly, but she ignored them. Her hair stuck to her face and she smiling wickedly. Before the boys realized what was going in, fish that they didn't even know where there surrounded them. They headbutted and nibbled on them lightly. The boys laughed playfully.
"One day, let's go back to Seychelles."
