I can't believe I haven't posted since February....so i guess it's time to post again....

Things are going well. I haven't killed Joe and he hasn't killed me, so I figure that is a success! Last week was Spring Break, didn't go anywhere...got papers and stuff pretty much all done. Of course then my advisor sends this email:

As you know, I think that theory drives experiment. I think that you both are now equipped to consider doing a simulation on compensatory enlargement using the G&R ideas and a simple axisymmetric formulation. The simulation would point out what is needed from experiment and what is already available. Lets meet soon, but first take some time to "outline" the problem including geometry, properties, applied loads, and of course time-course of biological changes to individual constituents. Use the document I sent based on my Udine lectures as a guide for the G&R. JDH

Pretty scary...Heather and I aren't quite ready to do this...not to mention we don't have most of the information he wants "outlined" However, once we do this, it is going to be a great achievement and will feel good...plus it will give us direction for what we need to find prior to beginning actual research on our PhD projects! But this will keep me VERY VERY busy for the next couple weeks...

On a brighter note...Joe and I signed a lease for a new place! We will be moving in August to a 4-plex. It has 2 floors and the master bedroom has a 6'x6' walk-in closet and a second closet! Talk about storage space!!!! I am excited to move.

In May we are going back to Nebraska to see some friends and family. On the way we'll stop at Fort Riley to see a couple of Joe's friends. Unfortunately we don't have time to go back to Peoria...hopefully at Chirstmas! We will spend our anniversary in Omaha and go to a really nice restaurant..I figure we can treat ourselves just this once!

Texas is gorgeous. The weather suits me well...I have no reason to be depressed and bitter since it doesn't get cold. I'm really happy here, but I really miss some of my friends. We are all growing so far apart...
