Hello everyone!
I am looking for a Sherlock/John fanfic that I read over at AO3 a few months ago. It begins before TRF, starting when Sherlock and John become romantically involved (I believe as a result of the post-case adrenaline) and continues through TRF and Sherlock's return. I have scoured the Post-Reichenbach tags over at AO3 with no success.
What I can specifically recall about this fic: John moves out of Baker St. after Sherlocks's "death." One of Mycroft's cars pull up beside John while he is out walking and John gets in the car to find Sherlock alive and well. The first thing Sherlock says is rather not good, such as "It was quite an adventure" in reference to the years of his faked death. Of course, John is furious because the last few years were absolute hell for him. He opens the door of the car and runs away. Sherlock chases John to the site of his grave where they have an argument and John leaves after telling him to "Piss off."
What was rather unique about this fic is that everyone was really pissed off at Sherlock and Sherlock has to earn their forgiveness. John doesn't forgive him and refuses to speak with him. Lestrade, who faced all sorts of trouble after TRF, refuses to let Sherlock in on any of his cases. No one is happy with him. There is one particular scene where Sherlock reaches out to Harry so he can find out some way to make John forgive him. They meet up for coffee. When Harry walks in the door, Sherlock deduces that she had sobered up and remained so over the years because John was in such a bad way. Harry decks him across the face, threatens him, and walks out.
The rest of the fic is about Sherlock having to grow up a little. He begins meeting with Molly for coffee and she tells him about certain habits he has that hurt people. So, he starts to learn from her (and a few other people, I think) how to learn to be a bit more mindful and less insulting as he realizes how deeply he hurt John.
Anyway, it would be lovely if any of you recognize this particular fic.
Thanks!
Sky
