Back in the thick of things.
I meant to post about Christmas # 2 with Angela's parents but I kept procrastinating.
Christmas # 2 was an absolute blast. We got tons of shit from Angela's family. Mostly socks and clothes (for me) which I can totally use. We also got a new set of cookware, bakeware, waffle maker and a beautiful flat grill (which I've been wanting for ages). But my big gift (christened "The Item" whenever Angela and her mom spoke about it) was something I never would have suspected. Her parents got me a freakin' XBox 360. I was stunned. As soon as we got home I set it up and started playing Marvel: Ultimate Alliance (which I purchased the day after our gift exchange). I love it.
Then came January 15th. The day I started my training course with The Commissionaires. Things went extremely well. The instructors were great as were my classmates. We finished the course on Wednesday and I received an overall course grade of "A" (Exceeds the requirements of the course). I went back this morning to pick up my uniforms, apply for my background check and complete any unfinished forms. I was sworn in and I am now officially employed with The Commissionaires (Great Lakes). I don't have a full time post as of yet but I have been put on what they call the Spares List (meaning I could be sent anywhere as a fill-in) until they find me something permanent.
So things are looking up.
