As I approach the one month milestone of being back in P-Town I figure the time is finally upon me to start properly clearing out the piles of stuff that I haven't touched since getting back home. That hasn't yet stretched to sorting out the remainder of the junk in the spare room, but it does mean I've started listing the giant pile of graphic novels on eBay. I'm not really desperate to make a fortune on them, just clear them out of the place and raise some money for socialising and what not.
The shifts at work came rolling in last week, but this week they've totally dried up again and having worked a grand total of 3.5 hours yesterday I currently have nothing for the rest of the week. I know I've thought about it before, but if this is the state of things I'm seriously going to have to look into getting temp work elsewhere whilst I'm back here. Not being paid until the end of the month after the days I've worked is hard enough before you consider just how little will actually be in that pay packet.
Of course the whole debate of finding other work in Peterborough re-raises the question of what my next steps in life are. The plan is still to get back up north as soon as possible, just I'd like to be slightly more secure financially than I actually am before I do that. Especially with the grand overseas adventure still on the cards for the new year. I mean, yeah, I'm nowhere near skint at the moment because there's still plenty of money sat in the ISA, just I really don't want to be tapping into that for 'day to day' expenses like rent and booze.
Speaking of booze, Saturday night saw The Drapers Arms hosting the Peterborough chapter of Chris' twenty-third birthday. Despite a grand turn out of six - well, eight if you include Nick and Tom 'gatecrashing' - we still managed a decent night out, although I think I'll be regretting the double AfterShocks for a while yet.
The next stop on the social calendar is a meal with a couple of the peeps from work tomorrow, and then it's Sarah's wedding on Friday. Oh, and I need to try and fit in coffee some time before the end of the week. Plus the parentals are away all weekend. House party, anybody?
