What do you have to do to be able to get lunch with someone down here?

I'm not even talking on a date, just a meet up to go to Burger King or something. I mean...holy hell it's tough in this town. About a 1/3 of the frat I joined has already turned me down or just ignored me, and that's from both sexes (Can't even get guys to come with to the Hooters knock off....). Hell, I was going to meet up with Megan, and then it turned out that she really didn't have the money to go out to eat. So I offered to pay for her, and she still said no! Holy crap, who turns down a free meal?

I don't get it. I mean, I really don't. Usually people like meeting up and being social. What the hell is going on????
