There's some strange connection between Deadwood and Supernatural - guns and death maybe?

I had this surreal moment watching Season 3 of Deadwood last night (I'm almost to the end), when Adams, aka the Horseman War from Supernatural, says to Tolliver, aka Sataner, "Horsemen came to camp by torchlight last night." Tolliver replies, "Tell him (Al) as we didn't wake to the apocalypse, all we need fear is their Winchesters."

Earlier today, this observation led to a long discussion with liptonrm about zombie cage fighting.
