Year in Fanfic Questions Meme

likeadeuce post some commentary on the fics she wrote for 2013 and thought I would do the same because I like talking about my fics.
I already posted the links to my 2013 fic, so if any of you want to check out the stories I mentioned in this meme, head over to that post.
My best story(ies) of this year:
We're Fading Fast as it's a concept that had been on my mind for a while. For the most part I don't think Roy and Riza got together pre-canon, but I got hooked over the idea of them together the night of Hughes' wedding, haha.
I'm also fond of Letters in the Rain because I wanted Rose and Kanaya to discuss a problem that had occurred (Rose's drinking). Sadly they didn't get a chance to do so in canon. SO UPSET.
My favorite story of this year:
The Five Times Roy and Riza Relax Outside of Work as I get to write out some Roy/Riza fluff and also stuff that happened in the gap between Chapters 8 and 9 of Chasing the Desert.
Most fun story to write:
Dogs Walking All Over because Riza gets some payback on Roy. :P Idea inspired when
likeadeuce and someone else discussed how Riza would put Roy's clean clothes and have Hayate sit on them to prove a point. Of course I love that scenario.
Sexiest story/Story with the single sexiest moment:
We're Fading Fast. Have to thank sonjajade for giving me tips on expanding the sex scene. It was originally going to be for Porn Battle, but then I got sick and not in the mindset to write more of it (played video games instead). The Oral Sex Fest then came along, so I went ahead and finished it.
The Five Times Roy/Riza fic has some sex too, but in the last part. Rainy kisses is a must.
Most "Holy crap, that's wrong, even for you" story:
Not sure any of my stories this year fit this description. :P
Story that shifted my own perceptions of the characters:
Seeing Thestrals made me think a bit over Luna and her relationship with her father. Cakes and Pillow Fights also got me to appreciate Calliope more.
Hardest story to write:
We're Fading Fast as I was afraid I wouldn't be able to bring the concept to justice. Most of my reviewers said how Roy and Riza got together happened naturally, so I'm glad that worked.
Biggest Disappointment:
1:10 to Central as dang it been working on the story over two years and really need to get back to finishing it, but am unmotivated at the moment.
Story most underappreciated by the universe, in my opinion:
Dogs Walking All Over because I posted it on Royai Day and got disappointed when other Royai fics got more attention.
Biggest Surprise:
Seeing Thestrals was my first Harry Potter fic, so I wasn't sure if the recipient would like it. Fortunately they enjoyed it a lot.
Most Unintentionally Telling Story:
Seeing Thestrals can probably count as the first part was a backstory of how Luna first saw thestrals and all.
Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted?:
I wrote quite less this year than last year. 2013 I was feeling really down over my writing and I got in trouble in Tumblr because of that, urgh.
What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January 2012?:
Harry Potter. I enjoyed the books but not motivated to join the fandom. When I got my assignment for Rare Character, Harry Potter was the only series from their list I was familiar with and decided on Luna.
Did you take any writing risks this year?
Dogs Walking All Over was my first remix story and had a lot of fun with it.
This year's theme and the story that demonstrates it most:
Mostly that I wanted to write more Roy/Riza and Rose/Kanaya, haha.
Do you have any fanfic or profic goals for the New Year?
Get fmabigbang finished (I'm like in the last or second to last chapter now, but story still needs some editing). There are a couple
homesmut prompts that got my interest, so I might write another Homestuck fic. Hopefully get back to 1:10 to Central.
