every so often, it will just hit me that i am moving in a month and a half. where has the time gone? this summer went by so fast. i didn't do any of the things that i really needed and wanted to do but it has still been pretty amazing. i took a trip by myself for the first time! i found a school that i really love! i moved out of my old apartment! i worked a ton! i started writing again! oh man! it's just hard because all the little things like, "finish going through old books and textbooks" and "help mom fix up the third garage" really need to get finished one of these days. oh well. one of these days!
i am considering asking my friend in seattle out on a date once i move to portland. i've liked him for like five years, off and on, and i just realized that hey. maybe i could like, do something about it. and perhaps there would be profit after all the question marks, who knows. is it bad that i don't really want to be in a relationship with him? i just kind of want to like, go for ice cream or something and possibly make out afterward, the end. but we will see. knowing me, i won't end up doing anything! how lame.
i got tagged by the lovely
sleepywaltz to do this! i totally, secretly love these things, so yay. i'm not tagging anyone but if you'd like to do it, go for it! ♥
1. It's a rainy day. Which one is your choice: a good book and hot chocolate, DVDs and popcorn or dancing in the rain?
a good book, hot chocolate, and a rainy day sounds like the best thing ever right now. if only it wasn't so hot...
2. What kind of books do you read?
i don’t read half as much as i used to, unfortunately! but when i do, i tend to choose historical biographies that i never finish, historical fiction that i finish in like one sitting [the king must die, i am looking at you…fondly], european travel books, novels that sound interesting, cookbooks for inspiration, and the occasional manga.
3. What are your most awesome skills?
i can knit! i am really excited to be moving somewhere that actually gets cold in the winter so i can finally make myself a scarf. um. i am in the process of learning a few languages that will hopefully turn into a few more languages. i taught myself two cyrillic characters! and i can still remember how to count in chinese even though i was only in that class for a week and a half. and uh...i can bake bread?
4. What's your occupation?
i work at a department store and technically go to university, although i am on a break and in the middle of transferring to a new school.
5. What's really creepy?
6. What's your current fandom/obsession/addiction?
it may or may not be hetalia. probably. definitely. um.
7. What flavor ice cream would you choose right now?
americone dream! stephen colbert, WHAT HAVE YOU DONE.
8. What websites do you always visit when you go online?
npr, my e-mail account, bank website, the byki
word of the day thing, lj, the anonmeme, and youtube! because i cannot live without my daily quota of obnoxious videos.
9. What was the last thing you bought?
groceries, yesterday. who wants watermelon? oh yeah.
10. What was the cutest thing you've seen today?
govinda and rani dancing together and pretending not to like one another. my crush on govinda is ridiculous but too much fun. i still need to watch this movie. i am so behind on my bollywood. i have had chak de! india sitting in my entertainment center for like four months. and it's about shah rukh khan coaching a women's field hockey team! and he has a beard! gah!
11. Do you get cravings? If so, what do you crave?
i consistantly always want disneyland style churros.
12. Which one do you think is more important: health or happiness?
i agree with what was written here already, the two go together.
13. Which member of your family is closest to you?
my mom, for sure. i am also pretty close to two of my cousins.
14. Do you want to learn another language?
i want to learn a ton of languages.
15. Five things you can't live without.
oh these questions are always so hard! um. friends and family, decent apple juice, trader joe's, my chef's knife, and...obnoxious youtube videos?
16. Which one is more difficult to you: to hate or to love?
hating stuff is way too easy. i am such a nerd but one of my favorite quotes is from a smiths song: "it's so easy to laugh, it's so easy to hate. it takes strength to be gentle and kind." i swear i am really not that big of a smiths nerd, really.
17. What are you looking forward to?
moving to portland, oh man. having the best roommates and neighbors ever. starting up at portland state. beginning french and german and getting into japanese again. EUROPE TRIP NEXT YEAR. studying abroad. teaching english abroad after i graduate. basically, so many things! life is awesome.
