a few things, no one watches these action movies to see an emotional connection or great story, it's a michael bay film so its over the top action and predictable shots, such as what the reviewer explains:

"Every establishing shot of an automobile driving down the road is lensed like a car ad, while every shot of a helicopter or naval ship is lit and scored with the rah-rah jingoistic subtlety of a hammer cracking open a skull."

These type of shots are in EVERY single michael bay film including The Island, which also got bad reviews. Transformers 1 had lame lines and a black auto bot that made me cringe as well. The reviewer also complains about how all the shots follow too close and is incomprehensible, I've read other reviewers that say they fixed that this time, and even if they didn't, thats the way it was in Transformers 1 so if you didn't like 1 there is no way in hell you'll like 2, especially considering this is a summer blockbuster that makes millions of dollars, Bay would of course only get alot more money to make this one bigger, which means less story and good anything except for action, something that people should know before they even announced the sequel.

ONLY 2 reasons to see Transformers 1 or 2

1) Action
2) Megan Fox

"Megan Fox chooses to sidestep the paces altogether, reciting her every line as if she is reading from cue cards and has no idea what emoting entails. So gorgeous that her skin remains flawless and her lip gloss glistens even after getting into multiple car crashes"

^ YESSSSSSSSS!

altho he did mention how people drop in a car only to survive, which is an annoying thing about the movies is that alot more people should die if this shit was actually going on.

ou know what you're getting into when you see a movie by michael bay. you wouldn't expect a frat boy to like or want to see a romcom, you wouldn't expect an antiblockbuster character driven picture lover to like a michael bay film, you wouldn't expect a girl that knows or cares nothing of acting and directing to know why a scorsese picture is so good, you wouldn't expect someone who didn't like the shaky camera in blair witch project to like the shaky camera in cloverfield.

basically this review is predictable for any persons complaints about a bay film because the complaints about a bay film are always saying the same thing just as the reviews for chick flicks will always be the same. it's like criticizing bride wars because it was too girly and not funny. most films appeal to their audiences. this is not to say however, that people should make action movies with brains, like star trek, but for the time being if bay is working, we know what the consensus will be.
