The Snow Queen - I hope to come up with a better title soon, since "The Snow Queen" is a bit too obvious for my taste. But nothing's come to me yet that isn't less obvious, so that'll probably be one of the last things I do with this story.
One of the nicest things about writing in fairytale style is that I can roundly ignore the adage "show, don't tell," and tell to my heart's content, citing stylistic reasons. And since my story is less about character and more about moralizing and sweeping themes, I can get through a lot more plot, and quicker. Hopefully, the end result will not be badfic...
I'm also playing a great deal more with various structural devices, such as my old standby the non-chronological story telling, but also layering stories within stories, use of flashbacks and other neato things. I should just call this project the arthouse story and be done with it, I suppose.
