New Year's Resolutions mosaic memery!

1. Choose some resolutions. Try to make them sort of simple or straightforward, because then you'll...
2. ...Type them into an image search engine like Flickr or Google and pick an image that pops up in the first 3 pages. Like, instead of "Cure the blind in western Wisconsin," you can simplify a little and type in "Cure the blind," etc. etc. and then elaborate in your journal. Otherwise you will get really irrelevant images returned.
3. March your cute little fingertips over to Big HUGE Labs and plug all the image URLs into the mosaic. I do most of mine 3x3 or 3x4 for easy viewing.

1. Read more. I'm going to deliberately avoid getting too many apps and things for my iPod / future smart phone (fingers crossed), so I can spend my inbetween times (commuting, waiting for class to start, etc.) getting through even just a few more pages or paragraphs, and not playing Mafia or whatever the kids are doing these days. I have read woefully few of the things deemed classic or essential, and even fewer of the things in my genre that are new and exciting and have everyone talking. That needs to be remedied. Maybe I'll try the 52-books-in-52-weeks deal, maybe not, depending on how many non-English books I wanna forge through.
2. Write more. I think I really need to set aside time for myself to write something, anything (well, not blog entries), every single day. Maybe set a weekly word count quota for myself. This waiting-for-inspiration thing just isn't working out.
3. Train harder. This is kind of out of my hands now because Masters Do and Jang are conspiring to push me through all the basic level exams in the next two months. But even when I return Stateside, I'll have so much spare time on my hands for the first half of 2011 that I'll really have no excuse not to spend at least an hour a day on form, or at the very least, daily stretches and strength training.
4. Eat healthy. This is gonna be hard when I return to the land of fast food, frozen meals, and delivery (Seoul has crazy delivery too, but my phone anxiety always kept me from ordering in), and thus that much more important. Maybe I'll go really wild and learn how to cook.
5. Stick with my planner! Last year I rooted through the stationery stores of four major cities in my quest for the Perfect Planner. I found it. Then I neglected to use it for months and months and months. I have bought an adorable planner for 2011 and I WILL use it! Especially since I'll need to keep track of books read and word counts reached.
6. Connect better. Blog more, comment and reply to e-mails faster, stay in touch with the folks, stay current with the specfic community and the sociopolitical sphere in general.
7. Do craftsy things. Papercrafts, crocheting, drawing, making my own accessories, something with a tangible end product. Cute results a plus.
8. Chill out. A revisitation of 2010's "Relax" resolution. Try, try again!
9. Kick ass and take names. This may seem contrary to #8, but it's not reeeally. Basically I don't want to do anything half-assed. If I must fail, then may I fail magnificently!
