There once was a little girl named San. She was a pretty little thing, and lived on a grassy knoll with her moose, Gil, and her pet demon, Jules. One day, when she was walking Gil and dragging Jules, she saw a "Jim Bob's Moving Company" van barreling in her direction. This scared San, because San's a teeny girl and large vans could kill her. Once San had caught her breath, and picked up Gil and Jules again, she became once again intrigued by the moving van. Moving vans meant new neighbors. New neighbors meant possible pretty boy neighbors. San ran home in ten seconds flat. Which is pretty bad when she was five seconds away, but she got distracted by a butterfly.
San was peering out her window, trying to see the neighbors, when she saw him. The prettiest neighbor boy that San could ever imagine. San knew what she had to do.
"I hope you like toads.." San looked everywhere for the perfect housewarming gift, and found it outside by her marsh. His face lit up with an expression that San couldn't quite understand, so San decided to look at her shoes. She had on her prettiest shoes today. They made her smile. And when she looked up, that boy was smiling too.
After that, San and That Boy did lots of things together. Like unpacking, and playing hopscotch. They did other things, like eating, but they're not so important.
One day, when That Boy was helping San walk Gil and Jules, San got distracted again. But this time it was a giant pile of leaves. San loved leaves. She ran over to the pile, and jumped right in. She didn't notice the growling thing behind her until it was too late.
"Gaahh!" yelled San. That Boy heard, and ran over to see San being carried up a tree by a large, hairy thing. San looked scared, and so did That Boy. He rummaged in his pockets to see what he had to fight the thing: a piece of string, a wooden nickel, a balloon, and a toad. As quick as the lightbulb that flickered on above his head, the boy had the balloon blown up, and Jules tied to it. Jules didn't like this too much, but after a bit of a pep talk, he seemed ok. Once launched, all Gil and That Boy could do was wait.
They heard a bit of a scuffle, but no yelps or squeals of pain, so they knew San and Jules were still ok. They waited for a few minutes before deciding that a nice game of tag was the only way to pass the time. The game was in full force when a blurred object from above tumbled onto the Boy. The balloon wasn't strong enough to hold both Jules and San, so the result was rather rock-like. Once the Boy could walk, they were on their way. San told her story on the way home, and Jules made sure she didn't stray too far from the truth, except for when she was talking about his fantastic saving skills. Even though they were only in the tree for a few minutes, San had a lot to say. That Boy got a few words in edge-wise, like "really?" and "wow!" but those were only to amuse San, and of course, it worked.
When they got back home, he let the toad back into the pond, said goodbye to San, Gil, and the terror, and went back home. Tomorrow's a whole new day, and if it was going to be spent with San, then he was going to need his rest
