went to see The Lightning Thief with Alex tonight. we both read the whole series and once we saw that it was made into a movie, a date was made.
i was a Greek mythology geek as i grew up, reading any and everything i could get my hands on, so finding this series was a dream come true. and i think Alex felt the same, as he really enjoys reading fantasy. i checked this book out of our library more times than i could count--
i vowed to myself to spend more time with children individually this year. it is easier to do with Clara, it seems, as we both like to "scrapbook". with Alex, i find it a bit more challenging, since his likes are screen related, and lots of those things are single-person things. for a while, we were rocking out to Guitar Hero daily, but since school resumed after Christmas break, that fell through. i asked him about it the other day, but he just had an "Eh..." for me when i asked him when we were going to rock again. but with trombone lessons Monday, and basketball practice Tues and Fridays, we don't have as much time as we did right after Christmas when the microphine and drums were new and we both had the days off.
even now, Clara is up here with me watching the Olympics while A is downstairs watching who-knows what...
but another thing i need to remember is the threat/vow i remade last week that they were each going back to only one 30-minute choice TV show, with other filler times having something educational on...
