Chili-mobile

I had a real crap start to my morning. Really crappy. We're having a chili cook-off in my department today, so I made my chili. Now, I don't make chili in a crockpot, i make it in a 50 gallon steel drum. I then poured it into the crockpot. I then put the crockpot in my car, on the floor. I made it all the way to work before the damn thing turned over and spilled chili all over my car. Well, not all over, just the foot-well of the passenger side, but I was pissed. The string of expletives leaving my mouth was unending (except that it did end). On the plus side, the best wife in the world, my wife, brought some more in some tupperware and cleaned up the car for me. I have a terrible feeling about the stink waiting for me in the car, but at least I won't have beefy chunks waiting for me.

In other news I get to go to Texas in the beginning of December. I get to help do recruiting and interviewing while I'm down there. I'm pretty pumped for that.

The PS3 "launched" today. Though, I doubt you can really say that. It maybe "hopped" or "sprang into the air" but I doubt it was really a launch. Seems to me that being able to sell more than 500,000 units would have been a launch. I have to admit: I'm really, really disappointed in Sony. I also feel really bad for them.

They didn't need this. For a company whose laptop batteries were recently bursting into flames, they really needed a solid debut of the PS3. On top of that, I'm also disappointed that I will probably have to wait till 2007 before I have even a remote chance of getting one. I'm just not interested enough to wait in long lines or check stores every week.

The last really bummer thing about this weekend is Robotech related. Months ago they released a trailer for the new Robotech movie that's called "The Shadow Chronicles." (You may have seen a link to that here in my blog) I was stoked! The release date was set for 11/21/06. I finally remembered that yesterday and thought, "Ooh. I should look into that and see if it'll be available anywhere near me."

I'm looking and looking and I cannot find any reference to this DVD that's supposed to be coming out. No hype. No press. Nothing. Not even www.robotech.com had anything. So, I dig; I went into the Robotech.com forums, and sure enough, it was delayed. My much awaited Robotech is now scheduled for "some time in early 2007." Great. The only plus side is that the reason they delayed the DVD is because they're trying to push a limited theatrical release. I wish Funimation the best of luck on that. I'd love to see this in the theater.
