the couple name for the pairing of jang hyunseung and lee kikwang from the south korean boyband, beast (often typeset as B2ST). they are often overshadowed by more popular pairings, such as junseung (junhyung/hyunseung) or kiwoon (kikwang/dongwoon).

hyunseung is often seen as the "pretty" one of the group, although he hates being called that; it has been said that he is also called a goddess among fans. he's often very shy and quiet on shows, but he has a 4D personality which has also been shown a lot (if you haven't seen the video of him shouting in chinese, it's a perfect example), usually when it's only his bandmates around. hyunseung is a hard worker and is actually very adorable!
hyunseung is one of the power vocals in beast (have you heard him hit those long notes? damn!) and one of the lead dancers, along with kikwang. however, his problem has always been with stage presence, but he has grown out of it as time passed. his dancing tends to be more precise and sharp, as can be seen in the video of him dancing with prepix's iLL.

kikwang is, honestly, a little ball of sunshine! he is one of the most popular members and is often featured in music videos, variety shows, and dramas. the boy loves to smile and laugh, and his eyesmile melts the hearts of fangirls everywhere. however, he is also famous for his abs (which he maintains in high condition by constantly working out like a maniac). despite his fierce presence on stage, kikwang is actually a very sweet and funny dork offstage. he is very gullible, which has earned him the affectionate nickname 'dumb!kwang' among us b2uties.
kikwang is one of the lead vocalists and dancers in beast. his voice is featured in almost every song, and his moves in almost every dance. in contrast to hyunseung, kikwang's dances seem to be more fluid, but no less powerful.

my favorite thing about them pretty much boils down to their relationship dynamic. i like that hyunseung can be so awkward, and that the rest of the group tends to treat him with kid gloves a bit, but that kikwang's doesn't really do that for anyone and just treats him him with his normal loving cheerfulness. it's nice to see hyunseung opening up in response and not being so awkward. the choreographed kiseung aegyo in beautiful always amuses me, since of course hyunseung would need his fanservice choreographed. he honestly just can't do it otherwise. my brain breaks trying to imagine him pull that move off with anyone else in the band, which is probably a testament to how comfortable their relationship is.
it's interesting that kikwang's mother thinks he can't sing and wants him to break into acting and he's on 23490340 variety shows, dramas and sitcoms, whereas hyunseung's only goal in life is to sing and dance, and his wish for the new year is to take a looooong holiday. kikwang professes his love for half the girls in kpop and hyunseung says his mother's the most important woman in his life and he'll worry about a wife later. miss korea is kikwang's biggest fan and hyunseung has been ignored at some fan events. there's this real sense of polarity at times.
and yet they are arguably the two most isolated members of the group--doojoon calls himself the dad of the group, junhyung is the mom, and yoseob says he's the son (and dongwoon is the maknae). hyunseung and kikwang are just the odd crazy aunts, haha! (actually junhyung has referred to them, respectively, as his 'daughter' and his 'mother-in-law', or alternatively as the 'babies' of the group who need extra care.) the others also seem to think of them as the dumb ones too. it's pretty fun to watch their documentaries and see them half live up this stereotype (always being the last two in any quiz they do, both getting fooled by blatant lies by yoseob) and half break it (getting the same really high score on their driving theory tests).
in the dynamics of the group they do gravitate towards each other to some extent. in idol maid they tend to sit next to each other and go out together and just do things together like a pair of dumb kittens, haha. they have called themselves 'the gym brothers' because they both work out the most. to go into creepy stalker mode, they also seem to be beside each other a lot in airport photos and the like, which simply suggests that they enjoy each other's company. how nice!
antis point how how hyunseung 'doesn't fit' in big bang or in beast, or how kikwang should have been a soloist/or is going to leave. and yet hyunseung says 'beast is the family i've always wanted, i love them'. kikwang is weepily apologetic about the fact that some of the others were his backup dancers before, and adores everybody in the group. and kikwang insists hyunseung is funnier than him but that he himself is kinda... slow. aw. as far as i can tell they both seem to have fewer idol friends outside of the group than everyone else. even though ofc they have friends in yg and jyp respectively, they interact with them less visibly that the others do with their own friends, preferring to stay in the group. what i'm ultimately pointing out is that despite all their obvious differences they are pretty similar in a lot of interesting ways.
i like how they don't fit into those annoying conventional shippy dynamics, since hyunseung might be superficially be the 'unmanly' one (to the extent that kikwang says he wants to marry a girl as pretty as him, and he gets called kikwang's bride on tv) but he's also taller and older and far more awkward and unable to express himself. oh, and he hates being called pretty. kikwang might be a hot, buff studmuffin but he's also a ball of clueless loving sunshine. at the same time, however, he's around the others a lot less because of all his recordings, and can seem pretty lonely and overworked.
idk. they've both faced some pretty tough rejection, they're both the main vocalists after yoseob and the main dancers, and there must have been some hint of rivalry between them at the very start, when all of them were still trying to prove themselves with that 'reject' label hanging over them. and now they have choreography where hyunseung's holding onto kikwang's upper thigh or make cutesy faces at him, and they've written and recorded a duet together. aaaand the duet is about sex. interesting.
