I'm getting more and more excited about Thanksgiving with each passing day. My mouth is already watering. I can't decide what to bake first! There are some new recipes that I want to try out for this year's Christmas Party, but I haven't gotten the supplies I need yet.
I finally finished my Borders application today and submitted it online. At this point, I'm pretty discouraged at my chances of getting hired anywhere. I called the Boulder Bookstore and they said they didn't have anything open right now, but that they'd let me know when they do. Yeah. Right. ugh. So I'm just trying to focus on happy things like everyone coming for Thanksgiving and my Annual Christmas Music and Movie Marathon, which is next Friday!!!! I want to bake something for my student, David, but don't know what. It will probably end up being the yummy wieght watchers fluffy chocolate chip cake thing, because I want a treat on Friday.
The other fun thing I've been doing is making a bunch of cd's for my new friend Jackie. At Kim's wedding, we had a lot of fun comiserating about Trent's marriage, and she said she only had a little of Under The Pink, so I, of course, am burning her a shitload of Toriness, plus some Tdawg goodies that I know she will enjoy.
I'm still re-reading The Perks of Being a Walflower. I really love this book. It's like a warm blanket. Next I'll be reading holiday related things like "Letters From Father Christmas" by JRR Tolkien, A Christmas Carol, and Holidays On Ice by David Sedaris. I've never read Sedaris before, but Savii really enjoys him, and I've enjoyed him on NPR once or twice, so I'm looking forward to it!
