October wasan interesting month. Laila and I left for NOLA on the 4th. We started by sightseeing. The Garden District was pretty cool, although we got lost and walked about 10 miles before even getting there (we didn't rent a car until the day of Kim's wedding). Did you know that Anne Rice and Tdawg lived about 3 minutes away from each other. I felt kind of wierd taking pics of their houses, but I'm sure they were used to it, as are the people who live there now probably, and they don't even live there anymore, so whatever.
We stayed in the French Quarter at the Dauphine Orleans. We had so much fun and good food! We started with fried alligator, which really does taste just like chicken. The best things I ate were the hush puppies I ate at the resturaunt on the way to the Oak Alley Plantation. And the garlic bread! But, the very very best were the Gulf Fish Almondine at Arnaud's and the food at the wedding. The wedding itself was really nice. It was outside at the Oak Alley Plantation(where parts of Interview with the Vampire were filmed!!!) We went early to take the tour, and it was free since we were there for an event! Kim looked STUNNING. The reception was basically just dinner, which was fine with me since it was at the end of the trip and I was tired. Kim sat me next to her friend Jackie. She was great! We talked about Tdawg (she's a NIN fan! We bitched about Trent's marriage, and she was sad when I told her Mariqueen is pregnant. When I said they should name the kid Tori if it's a girl, she TOTALLY got it! She said she only has some of Pink, so I, of course took it upon myself to burn her a shitload of Tori-ness. still working on that project! So happy to have a new Torifriend! Anybody know an amazing version of Jackie's Strength for the live disks I'm making? I was going to use the one from Buffalo, NY from ADP, but wanted to make sure there wasn't a better one.
Maryland was great too! Savii and I got stuff for the ceremony and I helped her edit her vows, which made me feel really special. She was a little stressed/annoyed at times, which is understandable. We did a lot of good eating too: Tokyo Cafe! Fat Burger! Tutti Fruitti! Tendo! But my favorite might have been Yogi Castle. It's like Tutti Frutti only BETTER!! We went there twice, and the second time I overdosed on icecream, but it was totally worth it because my dessert cost $6.66! whohoo!Savii also took me to the Edgar Allan Poe House and grave! It was awsome! The staircases were so steep and narrow that I almost couldn't get up them with my balance and all, but i saw most everyything anyway.
The ceremony took place in Centennial Park. I totally cried when Tommy recited his vows. I am so happy for Savii and Tommy, they are two of the most amazing people I've ever met and couldn't be more perfect for each other!
I had an amzing time on my Double Wedding Adventure, but I was glad to arrive back home on the 17th. I was glad to have some time to get excited about Halloween!

http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/album.php?aid=2054572&id=14401324 We went to Fort Collins to celebrate Jodie's birthday on the 24th. It was then that my Dad told us that our beloved Aunt Dorothy had passed away that morning, after not feeling well and being taken to the hospital the night before. She was 95. It was kind of a shock, as I think we all thought she'd make it to 100. But, she had a great life, so yoou can't really ask for more than that. Dad comes home today.
So, this month was one of ups and downs, good and bad.
HAPPY HALLOWEEN, EVERYONE!!! xoxoxo
