Warning: Politics ahead
I am by nature scornful and cynical about politicians. My voting record has always been who to vote against, not who to vote for. I have always gone with the lesser of evils approach. Or occasionally the greater of the evils, when I supported Cthulhu for President in 2004. Sadly, my favored candidate slept through the elections, and thus was unable to scare up enough support.
The more I look into Obama, the more I like him. Aside from being personable, eloquent, and apparently a nice man, he actually seems to be separate from the standard politicos of the modern era. The most revolutionary candidates are Ron Paul and Barak Obama. I could never vote for Paul, as I disagree with far too many of his stances. But I firmly hope that Obama gets the Democratic nod, as I actively would like to vote for him.
And just for the hell of it, here is Barak Obama's closing speech in Iowa. It is actually worth reading, believe it or not. *wry grin* It feels very odd to actually approve of any politician.
