So yesterday I went to see The Sorcerer's Apprentice, starring the fabulous Nicolas Cage and the awesome Jay Baruchel. Why is Baruchel so awesome? Because he's Canadian.
I was relieved that this movie, even though it's Disney, didn't try to hide the fact that Balthazar loved Veronica or that Dave loved Becky. Also, they let both couples actually kiss.
I really loved this movie. Then again, There aren't very many movies I actually dislike (New Moon, I'm talking to you).
Sorry, Zedd, but the plasma bolts beat your Wizard's Fire.
The special effects were really good. The action was pretty good too. Luckily, none of it was too Hollywood. I think they really hit the mark with that.
The music was well done, too, but at some point it sounded a bit too much like Pirates of the Caribbean with the rhythm and the cello playing. Secrets by OneRepublic was played a few times and was almost like the theme for Dave and Becky, which was kind of cute.
The best part, though? It was FUN. The humour was good and the characters were awesome. I mean, Nicolas Cage with epic hair, magical powers with Merlin? I think so. Of course, they had to have the scene with the mops and overflowing water. They did a pretty cool job with that one. By the way, that poster >>> is the best one, in my opinion. What can I say? I like epicness.
