Don't get me wrong--I've had some good times, and my parents celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary, and I'm stoked we have a new president. (A little concerned that there's this sudden influx on publicly broadcast prayer, tho

This is Lauren, I know it's been years since I've seen you, but I'm really sorry to hear about your car trouble. I hate cars. I'm actually scared to death to drive em, and whenever I do, I always feel like I'm behind the wheel of this colossal thing that even if I make even the slightest jerk thisaway or thataway with my hands, the car is gonna go flying into a ditch or blindside the obscured car next to me and send us both careening off a precipice and into this ravine a mile deep, kind of thelma-and-louise style. So in short, I'm paranoid, but not nearly as bad as this one friend I had who was afraid to go even 10 mph in a car. The poor guy started freakin out when he was driving through a mobile home park at 10 mph. I was in the car with him, and his friend mike was teaching him how to drive. I was like, dude, you should be more afraid of the potential residents of this mobile home park than of your driving, cuz they could do more damage to you than you ever could to your car, being the only car on the road. Trust me, dude, you're safer in the car (the neighborhood we were in was right next to the projects, and considering that I didn't entirely trust the ppl around there, yeah....) but in any case, I feel really sorry for the guy.
So I'm sorry to hear that your car was having convulsions on you, but I'm glad to hear that you had friends nearby to help you out, and that everything's alright. Oh, I meant to tell you that I actually had to move town, so I'm living on the coast, just north of Wilmington now, as I lost my job in greensboro. But I'm thinking about moving back to gboro this sept...so hopefully I'll see you around, and I'll finally come out of the dark and go to some scubed meetings, as I had intended to a long time ago (but never had the time to). Well, best of luck to you, and hope your car behaves. - Lauren
