So, we went road-tripping a little through England.
We got a lift down to the south coast, stayed for a night with a friend of JM's. We hired a car the next morning and drove to a little sea-side village where JM used to work. We had some nice food at the local pub and then quite a few drinks with a couple of his old mates (including the pub landlord).
This led to a 'lock-in' whereby the pub is closed and yet we're still inside, with booze! It's illegal to sell booze after 11pm so normally in a lock-in all the participants would pre-purchase a bunch of beers but in this case the booze was on the house :D
I surprisingly didn't have a massive hangover the next morning. Yay!
I have now experienced two hire-cars and can tell you that a Renault Scenic is a _lot_ better than a Fiat Punto. The drive back to Heathrow Airport (where the hirecar depot was) was rather boring. We did go past Stonehenge. Unfortunately you have to pay to get within 50m of it so I just took a couple of photos over the fence.
