Through the eyes of a Toddler

 Tonight's bedtime routine was AWESOME. I was just so HAPPY to engage with my bug tonight. He was snuggly and happy and friendly. And he ate avocado with just a little disengagement at the beginning. Then I soaked it in lemon and sea salt. Noms. He kept asking for more, and made mommy share.

Dinner? Juicy Jumbos, Avocado and Apple. Nice and light. The hot dogs were wrapped in whole wheat wraps instead of buns. If I'd gone to bed 2 hours ago, I wouldn't be thinking of a snack now. *grin*

After toothbrushing and some tummy medicine, off we went for our nightly round of mommy singing while DS nurses. He had micro burps - the ones that gurgle slowly up the pipes but never really come out as more than a burble.

The discussion went something like this:

*growl*
Me: What do you say when you burp?
DS: head toss, no response
Me: You say Excuse me
DS: *thump head-chest* *gurgle*
Me: What do you say when you burp?
DS: Thank you!
*gurgle*
DS: Thank you!
Me: We say Excuse Me when we burp
DS: *gurgle* turkey
Me: Turkey? Did you say turkey?
DS: *nods*
Me: Turkey? Okay, you can say turkey. I'll say excuse me.
DS: *growl* TURKEY!
Me: (after I talk him back to nursing again) *burp* (says nothing)
DS: stops nursing to say mommy burp?
Me: Oh yes, sorry. EXCUSE ME

*giggle* :)
