"...You should try it some time."
So I took some stuff that was lying around my house into work to trade in so I could get different stuff. Couple of video tapes, some DVD's that I never watch, and a slew of CD's that I don't think I've ever listened to. Did you know that I owned not only Third Eye Blind's first album but DEVIL WITHOUT A CAUSE by Kid Rock as well? It's true. I'm not sure how and I don't even remember buying either of those albums but there they were.
I ended up with about $160 bucks in trade which made me happy. I could have bought a game system, like an XCube or a GameBox or whatever you call 'em. I thought about it, but then I realised that it would just sit here and collect dust as I'm not really all that much of a video game guy. So I thought to myself, self (which is how I refer to myself), "Why waste all of your trade on a really expensive paperweight?"
Instead I grabbed some DVD's that I have been eyeing for a while (because I do so love movies). I grabbed SCHINDLER'S LIST (not really the kind of movie you just kind of pop in to watch on a rainy day but a very important film), the Legacy Collection Editions of DRACULA and THE WOLF MAN (I'm finally starting my Universal creature-feature collection and these Legacy editions are fantastic. There are four more that I have to snag to complete the set: FRANKENSTEIN, THE CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON, THE INVISIBLE MAN, and THE MUMMY), the GODFATHER series, and, my favorite, the first box set of UFO.
In case you're not familiar with the series, UFO was done by Gerry Anderson, the genius behind SPACE:1999 and all of those 'supermarionation' shows like THUNDERBIRDS and CAPTAIN SCARLET. UFO is about a secret organization called S.H.A.D.O. (Supreme Headquarters Alien Defense Organization) fighting to save Earth from an alien invasion in futuristic 1980 (the series was made in 1970). It's a great show. All fancied up in British mod style.

So, yeah, bunches and bunches of things to watch and I didn't spend a dime. In fact, I had cash leftover so I took my hetero-sexual lifemate Randy Chambers out for a fancy dinner at Tom's Diner (what can I say? When I treat someone I go all out).
Behold my superior dorkitude.
