LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! I AM A LICENSED DRIVER!
Let the jokes about staying off of Pennsylvania highways begin!!
I was SUPER nervous for the hour leading up to when I left work to take it. I think it's because I was alone in the office...therefore I had no one to talk to. That means that I had time to sit and think. Which is the worse thing I can possibly ever do.
I have a totally over active imagination when it comes down to big events in my life. (ex: I was sitting there picturing myself to be the only person who ever took the text to be side swiped by a tractor trailer).
Yeah, 'I'm my own worse enemy' was coined for me in that aspect.
But once my Dad came to pick me up and I sat in the driver's seat...I was completely calm. Once I'm actually doing the thing I'm fine. It turned out that the guy I had for my test was super-duper nice. His name was Ed and he seriously was the coolest guy.
I went around the course and a bit out on a road path that they have planned, then we came back to the Mall (where the Driver's Center is located) and I was good to go. The ladies working the picture place were the total opposite of Ed. They were catty and really sarcastic to me.
And of course, like every other person that I know. My picture came out terribly. I fixed my hair before hand because it was muggy and it was hot in our car so my hair was a big POOF of a mess. It looked great. But some time in the 2 foot distance from the mirror to the chair, my bangs split off to the side and it looks awful and my smile looks forced.
Ah well, beggars can't be choosers or whatever it is they say.
As it turns out,
cheez0rs got her license yesterday too. :D We've done so many firsts together it's kinda crazy. This just adds another big shared step in life to our list.
We've decided that as our rewards...we ARE officially going to see Stan Lee in Pittsburgh. We've already got the tickets. Needless to say we're totally stoked!!!
Whoo!
Today was my last day off of work before classes start this Monday. My books have been bought and I've steeled myself as much as I can to face the fact that summer vacation is officially over. Blah, but since she's able to drive as opposed to walking, Adrienne came over and we had a movie day. We watched Iron Man together for the first time and we also watched Fanboys. Which is pretty funny, not as funny as I hoped, but still pretty funny.
She also brought me the Watchmen soundtrack to burn. I'm listening to it now. Skipping over the HORRENDOUS cover of "Desolation Row" by My Chemical Romance...and I didn't even bother burning the worst version of "Hallelujah" on the planet.
So that's what I'm listening to now. Getting sappy over "Unforgettable" and realizing that "The Times They Are A-Changin'" is one of my favorite songs ever.
