Still playing catch up. Please bear with me.
We are so NOT enjoying this heat! So far it’s only been into the 90s. I hope we don’t hit too many days of 100+F. I so will not like that.
Class Options. Is anyone interested in a class on knitting a toy like a doll, dog, bunny or kitty? If so let me know so I can schedule something.
Beyond the Basics. From time to time I schedule classes in my Beyond the Basics section for knitters and crocheters that want to learn a little more than basic how to knit and how to crochet. Are you ready to stretch your knitting wings? For these knitting classes you must know how to knit and purl and be able to do so with ease. For the crochet classes you must know how to crochet into your foundation chain, how to chain, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet and triple crochet. Watch this space for the next Beyond the Basics class announcement. You can register for all of my classes on my
website. Jokes, Sayings & Cartoons.

Knitting Needle Nutter
Don’t Knit This. You know how when you try to pull your yarn from the center of a skein and a huge wad of it comes out in one mass? We call that a “yarn barf.” And when you spin yarn thick and thin plus oddments of colors, we call it “art yarn.” And…when you take your poorly spun “art yarn” and knit it with needles that are way too big, then add to it with another “art yarn” that doesn’t even match, I am naming this “art yarn barf.” As Queen of Everything (QOE) I declare that there is no reason for this to exist.

Art Yarn Barf
We visited Brandon, Terry Ann and Grandbabies on Saturday. It was my birthday and they were so good to us with gifts, cake, and a huge barbeque steak dinner to celebrate my birthday, Ken’s birthday and Father’s Day. Boy were we spoiled when we left there.
One amusing incident happened when Jotham wanted a ball and I wouldn’t give it to him. Oh the drama. He held his wrist to the back of his forehead and wailed like a banshee.
Terry Ann came in to see what was wrong. Jotham pointed at me through his crocodile tears and said, “That GIRL over there was mean to me.” It was hilarious! That’s me: “that girl over there.”
I have some photos of the grandbabies but will need to post them later. I’ve got to vacate the computer room soon so the cleaning lady can clean in here.
Unexpected Benefit of Knitting. It helps improve motor functions knitting. Because knitting stimulates almost the whole brain at once-”the frontal lobe (which guides rewards processing, attention and planning), the parietal lobe (which handles sensory information and spatial navigation), the occipital lobe (which processes visual information), the temporal lobe (which is involved in storing memories and interpreting language and meaning) and the cerebellum (which coordinates precision and timing of movement)”-it can be used to help people with diseases like Parkinson’s improve their motor functions. It both helps improve their fine motor skills and distracts from other painful symptoms. Source:

I also cast on a lace head scarf for my cousin undergoing chemo. Of course socks are on my needles. I have knit several inches on the leg of the cashmere sock.
Additionally on my needles are my mitered squares afghan from left over sock yarn and my purple cashmere merino pullover. All of the fancy work has been done. What is left are miles and miles of Stockinette Stitch and I need to reknit one sleeve. But I am actually considering that I might frog it. It is ¾ completed but I may have lost interest in it.
What’s on your hooks and needles?
