Alright, you guys know me... I like helping people. And I'd be so very grateful if any of you would be willing to help me help somebody else. Here's the deal...
I was browsing through craigslist's volunteer listings and came across this ad...
"I am willing to give my wedding ring to the person that will help get us some food.
It is just a little 10 point diamond set in 14k white gold but it is clean and very pretty.
I tried to pawn it but they only wanted to give me 20.00 for it!
I was shocked by that and said no thanks even though we need the money for food really bad.
I instead pawned our dvd collection and got 30.00 for them.
I bought us food but it won't last us long so I decided to place this ad hoping someone would volunteer to help us and I will just give you my ring for your helping us.(my husband left us so I don't need the ring anyway)
We need milk, eggs, bacon or sausage,cereal,bologna and cheese slices,mayo,hamburger meat,chicken, canned soups and canned veggies, hot dogs and mac n cheese,bread,salt and pepper,oil and butter and a bag of potatoes.
We are not picky we will except all food donations and if possible we need soaps and baby shampoo too.

PS I am also looking for work I can clean, babysit, walk your dog and do yard work. My kids are at school from 9-3 so I can work those hours.

The kids is, of course, the part that made me want to take this ad seriously. When kids are involved, I want to help. Especially if the kids are hungry.
SO. I'm going shopping tomorrow and I'm going to contact this woman and have her meet me somewhere public. I'm going to buy her and her kids food either way, but I'd love it if any of you guys could possibly chip in like $10 to go towards this food.
And hey, if it turns out to be a scam or something (which I don't think it is), we can keep the food, or return it and you can have your money back.
