I interviewed with a nanny agency on Monday as a temp nanny. I was really hoping, when I walked into that interview, that they might be able to find me a somewhat long term job as far as temp work goes (2+ months) with a regular schedule. But it turns out that I'll be lucky if I get something that's 2+ months and regular. Looks like they'll be tossing job offers at me, often times on very short notice, and it's up to me if I take the job or not. They may be 1 day jobs, 1 week jobs, or 1 month jobs. Despite the irregularity of it, I'm just really hoping that this will allow me to get the money I need for my trip.

I got my first job offer today, now that they got a hold of my references and did my background check. I have a job lined up for Monday... just Monday, for a family in Redmond. The lady at the agency said she'll try to get some jobs line up for me for the rest of the week since I want FT work.

There's the good and the bad about this job...
The good: 1. Being a pisces, I sometimes have a hard time sticking with things... happily... for long periods of time. So the temp work, as someone said to me, will be slightly reassuring in that I won't feel like I'm "stuck" with a family that I don't like. 2. I'm getting paid. 3. Getting experience with a lot of different families.

The bad: 1. The irregularity of it. 2. The fact that I have to make that good first impression over and over and over again. 3. Being unsure if I will always get my hourly needs.

I guess I'll just have to feel it out for a while before I decide what I really think of this type of work.
