Not twenty minutes after I woke up from a dream about having a life boat drill in which I had to descend from the ship on a special kind of pulley line and onto a life raft (missing it twice, landing in the water on the third try), I learn that the Safety Officer has selected me for Lifeboat Commander Training.
Should this training happen, it'll be off the ship and either in Miami, Holland, or Hawaii for a few weeks and by the end I'll be fully certified for a number of years to do just what it suggests - "command" a life boat in the event of an emergency. I don't plan on doing more than three more contracts - that's less than two years, but if it'll bump my pay up a bit and make me more employable should the need to do ships again in the future it could be well worth it.
This morning was even more exciting (but in a good way) because I got my picture taken with Hank Aaron - the second my mom sends me my dad's email address, he's got mail.
Tonight's production show is one that I've only seen once and I don't quite know what I'm doing. Looking over the notes, it seems fairly uninvolved from my stand point, but given the computer problems we've been having, I'm slightly concerned.

The reality of the world cruise is starting to set in for me. I'm not concerned as much about the extra work as I am about the down time. I'm almost through all of the DVDs I have and there won't really be the opportunity to buy new ones - not just because the rest of my money needs to go towards my much needed computer, but because I'll be in ASIA in just less than a month. If they DO have Season 2 & 3 of Veronica Mars, Season 4 of Alias, the last two seasons of The West Wing, I doubt it'll be in English.
I'm screwed, but I know I have the will power to stay away from the alcohol no matter how bored I get.
