The story of my life in seven words:   Inappropriate things, at inappropriate times, with inappropriate people.  Snagged by the description of my godson's behavior by his mother.  Yep.  Story of my life. :)

Ya'll might remember a previous reference to a super-cheap party dress that Doug veto'd me getting since we had no where to go to wear it.  Even though it was super cheap.  And looked like it was made for me.  And was versatile...  I digress.  Anyway, today he comes home and says he's been invited to a black-tie event on Saturday through a client at work.  A rent a tux, kind of event.  I was able to look him straight in the eye and say "I could go but I don't have anything to where.  Too bad I didn't get that party dress."   Hah!!!!  I don't own anything anywhere close to appropriate for an event like that. But missing it is almost worth having a future "Party Dress" card to play.   See there can be more to perceived impulse buying than "Ohhhhh sparkly.  Want."  (not much, mind you, but it possible!)

I have however, been on a rash of clothes buying lately.  Nothing pricey, but a bit of Old Navy and a trip to Burlington Coat Factory and some wrap skirt/dress thingies.  I even bought *gasp* leggings.  And a tunic-y dress.  I'm a little concerned about this because apparently the shoes you wear with such things are fairly unsupportive ballet flats and I really have too many foot issues to wear cheap shoes.  (read:  I have maybe 4 pairs of shoes I wear regularly through out each season - 1 sneaker, 1 black, 1 brown, 1 red for winter and 1 sneaker, 1 black, 1 brown, and 1 white for summer.  Except I actually splurged on boots this year, so I have two pairs of boots.  I've been really grateful for my fur lined winter boots this year because damn, we've gotten a LOT more snow than usual.

I also chopped my hair again.  It's all short (nape)  in the back and angled to longer (chin)  in the front.  It feels very 'young' to me and while I like it a lot and how it showcases the texture (wavy) of my hair, it feels weird to have a contemporary hairstyle.   I really like having my neck exposed though.  I forgot I had one.

Had Landen today and Ophelia tomorrow.  Hurray for two-toddler days!

It was snowing last night when Amy and I left NIA and we took a walk around the block before getting in the car.  It was really, really, lovely to look up at the snowflakes dancing arabesques against the night sky and just be peaceful for a moment...  I'm putting that in my happy thought bank.

g'night.
