TL;DR version: I am almost halfway through and due on November 29. We aren’t sure if we want to find out ahead of time if it’s a boy or a girl.

But I'm a big fan of all those announcement methods. I think that might be the most fun you get to have during the birthin-mah-bebbeh routine. Not sure. Not investigating. You're so much braver than I.

We don't have any children, so the only story I have is about a fb update that I made which was interpreted as a pregnancy announcement by pretty much everyone I know. I posted this quote. There were about half a dozen comments from people who got the joke and then one person decided it meant I was pregnant, and then came the flood. I had to do some serious damage control. Although, in retrospect it would have been a good way to announce it!

I remembered that quote but not where I read it. Thanks to that I never told anyone "We're expecting" because I knew I'd add "...a velociraptor" and I'd start laughing and no one would know why :D
