Now all of a sudden I have 20 things I want to write about!!
First: Follow up on the V For Vendetta stuff from the last post.
I was looking around V4V (yes, everything has an acronym now - like BBM and SoaP!!) communities on LJ. And I discovered that
- I don't really want to discuss the movie. Yes it makes you think. Yes it can be related to today's politics and events. No I dont' really care. Or it's more like I think I get it already: fascism is bad, being called a terrorist depends on which side you're on and which side wins, people give up freedom for security and that leads to trouble, George Bush is evil, etc etc etc. Shut up and let me watch the shiny knives.
- People in V's mask in real life scare the crap out of me. I generally don't like people in costumes where you can't see their faces, except on Halloween. Like Easter Bunnies and Santa and mascots freak me out if I am near them. So I also say "No thanks" to Vs in real life!! Scary!!
- Finding V somewhat attractive isn't too weird. Well, it's not too uncommon, maybe I should word it that way
Shiny knives, I tell you!! Thanks for the help with this,
winnett
I might see it again this weekend.
Second: A story for
Joyson (and anyone else that might appreciate it).
A few weeks ago I was watching NCIS with Carlos (it's like CSI but in the Navy, I don't watch it much but the characters are pretty cool). Two of the characters get in a shootout at some docks or something and have to hide inside a giant shipping container and get locked inside. They open some crates inside and find pirated copies of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai!! And they are like "What the hell is Kuch Kuch Hota Hai" (and say 'hai' like 'hi' the way my dad says it) and at the end one of them says "If we get out of here alive you and I are watching Kuch Kuch Hota Hai."
That show gets about 17 million viewers each week, it's almost always in the Top Ten. So even if just 0.1% of those viewers are intrigued enough to rent the movie, that's 17,000 people that could be introduced to the perfection that is Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol!!!! (Assuming they can spell it well enough to find it, I guess.)
I was so excited. YAY.
Third: Memes stolen from Phil.
First one, that I actually don't feel like being particularly serious about hehe.
I AM Kate!
I WANT to sleep. And go outside because the weather is so nice.
I HAVE too much crap, it's time for spring cleaning.
I WISH I could fast forward to being 30.
I HATE so many stupid celebrities. Grrrr!
I MISS warm weather, surprisingly.
I HEAR birds that I can't ID yet, but I'm learning!
I FEAR losing people I love before I'm ready to let them go (aka, ever).
I SEARCH with Google.
I WONDER how nice it would be laying in my hammock at home right now.
I REGRET every time I yell at Carlos when I'm really mad at something else, like traffic.
I LOVE so many people
I ACHE in my jaw, because I have TMJ from clenching it and I really need a massage.
I ALWAYS listen to "
El(l)iot(t) in the Morning" on my way to work. But I still have no idea how many Ls and how many Ts are in his name.
I FEEL a little restless.
I DANCE to Shakira and techno. Alone in my room. Not nearly enough.
I SING like Willow in "Once More With Feeling". Which is why I never sing. I have compassion for other people.
I CRY at sappy love songs, movies, and poems when they make me think of Carlos. I'm such a loser
I AM ALWAYS tired?
I WRITE in Xanga too much.
I WIN teh intarwebs?
I LOSE absolutely everything, then forget it ever existed, so I never even think to find it again.
I CONFUSE Carlos, probably. Hahaha.
I NEED sleep! And to go birding.
I SHOULD do work instead of playing on Xanga.
Another, which I am sure I will suck at but what the hell:
Reply with your name and ...
1. I'll respond with something random I like about you.
2. I'll tell you what song/movie reminds me of you.
3. I'll name something we should do together.
4. I'll say something that only makes sense to you and me (or just me).
5. I'll tell you my first/clearest memory of you.
6. I'll leave you a quote that is somehow appropriate to you.
7. I'll ask you something that I've always wondered about you.
8. If I do this for you, you must post this on your journal
Fourth: I loved the new Pride & Prejudice movie, I got the DVD and have watched it like three times already, and now I downloaded some of the tracks from the soundtrack (from iTunes, I'm a good girl) and am playing them over and over. Just thought I should mention it in case anyone else shared my love of this movie!
Fifth: I want to read this book:
American Theocracy: The Peril and Politics of Radical Religion, Oil, and Borrowed Money in the 21st Century by Kevin Phillips. I know I'll just be nodding my head in agreement the whole way through. I can't explain why but that feels like cheating. Shouldn't I read something I might at least disagree with a little?
I also want to read
The Osama bin Laden I Know, because it's supposed to be really good and informative and explains how he got all crazy. Like the nonfiction version of the origins of Darth Vader =P
And I bet they will both be scary!! (I have them on hold at the library, I should get to them soon)
Sixth: I can't watch Lost anymore. Locke has reminded me of my dad from the beginning. I don't know why. Maybe cuz my dad is outdoorsy and has knives and stuff. So Locke's sad flashbacks made me extra sad because he reminded me so much of my dad. They were hard to watch. THEN, THIS WEEK, we find out he was a home inspector. MY DAD IS A HOME INSPECTOR. Lost is stalking my dad! And I can't stand Locke/my dad being so sad so I can't watch! *spaz* Pretend that was coherent.
Ok so 6 isn't exactly 20... But it's more than I had to write about before!
Have a good weekend everyone!
