Weee! Just got my new camera!
Olympus Mju Tough 9000
I bought it because I really needed a pocket camera. Especially since NZ is this week, I really really wanted something... my other camera is just waaaaay too big. It's even heavy for my handbag, let alone impossible to take snowboarding. I also wanted a pocket camera that would have high zoom... minimum 10x zoom. I'm obcessed with zoom.
So yay! The Olympus Mju 9000 is 12MP and 10x Zoom (28-280mm - 35mm equivalent). That's good enough for me. It was my second or third choice, mostly due to price. I saved myself over $150 from what I *really* wanted to buy, which was the Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS2 / TZ7 Digital Camera (10MP, 25mm 12x Zoom, and AVCHD recording for movies, gah awesome!), or even the Canon PowerShot SX200 SX 200 IS 200IS (12.1MP, 12x zoom) which was very close. The selling point for me was the price, as well as the fact I could only use my existing xD memory card in the Olympus.. the others carry sD cards and I refused to spend more money on another one. So, yep, here I am with another Olympus! I reaaaaaaaally wanted the Lumix.
I am SOOOO impressed with the brilliant fast postage from my ebay seller. Trading_Centre. And they were cheaper than Digital_Rev where I bought my last camera from (even with all their extra "gifts". Trading_Centre was very good with communication, despite coming from Hong Kong, and they offered free postage if you used direct debit (Aus banking only) and an extra year warranty. I bought this camera on FRIDAY, and its' on my door at 9am on Monday. Not too frickin shabby.
I also think my Snowboard jacket arrived at the post office today. 4 MORE SLEEPS TIL QUEENSTOWN, yeeeee!!
