Moving forward
Social life is slowly returning! Last night I drove out to Penrith to meet up with Rachel and Ruth (the british one from New Years - it turns out she will be moving into Rach's new place so yay, more friends!) and went to dinner at Hog's Breath.
I can honestly say that was a pretty crappy meal. Even looking at the girl's meals... they had steaks, and it was pretty ordinary. Mine was half cold (I had the chili that was served in a loaf of bread..) but I wasn't really hungry anyway so it didn't matter...
The only good thing was that the wine was good and it was really cheap!
Afterwards we drove up to the Lapthorn Hotel... yeah I had no idea where that was, turns out it up was in the mountains! Yeesh hahah well, I call anything that's after the M4 ends "out of Sydney" or "in the mountains", even though Rach is currently living with her parents in Wentworth Falls which is even further away and literally IN THE BLUE MOUNTAINS.
It was great just sitting in the outdoor courtyard having chats. Nice to have two girlfriends who are pretty cool.. funny.. mature.. and we all have alot in common which is great. We talked alot about relationships and travel, mostly because Rach is still dealing with a massive breakup from last year and the guy isn't handling it very well (is now dating someone 10 years his junior, which is also a friend's younger sister - idiot)
Anyway it's Rach's birthday tomorrow... and there is a big party at their new place next weekend. I'm actually really looking to going... Rach is in the same boat where she's glad she's finally allowed to be happy again with friends, and just be herself again... it all worked out really well with the timing with me coming back and her needing someone she knows to talk to, and I'm relieved. Also, Summer will be a nice alternation between going to their place to play Wii and Playstation hahah and them coming down to use my pool on hot stinker days. Yay I have friends!
