Con babble

The Comic Con schedule is finally out, and I'm spoiled for choice. Neil Gaiman! Rifftrax! Fables! MYTHBUSTERS! Now it's a matter of sifting through that ginormous list of panels, and deciding which ones will be worth braving the lineups to squeeze into.

So far: overwhelming. How do you decide between two equally interesting panels that are going on at the same time? Is it worth sitting through a whole panel when you're really only interested in one or two of the guests? How do you decide what's worth sacrificing a morning/afternoon/night to stand in line for? DECISIONS. Any panel-attending schedule I make would probably fall apart in the face of reality when I get there. So I decided to just print out a list of all the panels I'm even remotely interested in, and highlight a few "MUST SEE!" ones that are worth planning a day around. The rest will be alternates or "stop by if I have free time" ones.

Things I'm eyeing so far:
- Avatars, Icons, and Anti-Heroes
- Comic Arts Conference Series: Fan Power
- Comic Arts Conference Series: Myth and the Superhero
- Unlocking Arkham Asylum: Forensic Psychiatry and Batman's Rogue Gallery
- The Anthropology of Star Trek
- Coraline
- Rifftrax Live
- Monster Mashup
- Heroes
- The Venture Brothers
- Mythbusters
- Doctor Who
- Being Human & Torchwood
- Supernatural

So uh, yeah, obviously I still have a lot of narrowing down to do. I'll have to forego some of them because of lineups, or because their panel times overlap. (WHO DECIDED TO SCHEDULE THE ZOMBIE PANEL AND HEROES PANEL AT THE SAME TIME?) And there's lots of random things happening in the evenings that I'll want to check out, like the Masquerade or the Dr. Horrible and Buffy musical viewings. I can't decide whether I'm intimidated or excited that this is finally HAPPENING.

Any idea what panels you'll be going to, ibroketuesday and cookie_simone? If you want to meet up for some line camping, we should swap contact info. :)
