Life is not nearly as fun with all this working. :) The weeks are flying by in a blur of chef's knives, flame, and produce...but I'm still trying to have a little fun and get things sorted out.
Ra, Mike, and I went out to Rockspot for some much needed climbing a few days ago, and holy hell did I get tired fast. I ended up mostly bouldering here and there with a few unsuccessful top-rope routes thrown in for flavor. Still, it was nice to climb for a little bit and remind my body that yes---there is peace somewhere in all the insanity. :) After climbs we went back to Ra's house and made some tasty burgers with corn and golden russet potato chips...NOM NOM. There was of course, some wii Sports (as an aside...how does Mike bowl strikes EVERY time?!) a few tasty beverages, and some laughs. It was needless to say, a nice break.
I seem to be making progress on this car thing, but not without the salesman trying to COMPLETELY screw me before everything is said and done. The long and short of it is that as a result of my I'm-here-for-you-anything-you-need salesman blowing me off...my beloved 2007 Jeep was sold out from under me this past weekend. On the upshot, after a seething phone call, the sale's simian ended up magically finding me an '08. I then managed to badger him down to the original price of the 2007, as it was his fault for dropping the ball, and got a call this morning that I was approved. I love it when I win. Hopefully I can sign the papers this week and put this whole messy thing behind me. Yay for new (better) cars!
Upon checking my LVC email this morning, I found Six
E-commerce Case Studies from the gang over at Umass. Some of them were great and seriously enlightening. Others...well, lets just say I know B*ll$h*T when I see it. Taking my words and regurgitating them back to me is NOT a case study! Did they think I wouldn't notice or something?...I wrote it! Still though, for the students who took it seriously, big thank-you's are in order as it gave me some very real food for though (no pun intended), and I'll be putting some of their ideas into practice this coming year. For now, I need to get through the next few functions.
Ok, enough coffee inspired rambling from me.
Until we next meet...
