Why is the progressive income tax grist for invective against Obama, but Sarah Palin's complicity in the shakedown of the oil companies working in Alaska okay? If it's wrong for the government to club individuals with income tax for distribution purposes, then by some very simple logic its wrong for the state of Alaska to club other "hard-working

And you're dreaming if you think Barry's ascendancy will enable the ushering in of some new age of personal liberty....
As POTUS Barry has the ability--with the cooperation of overwhelmingly Democrat legislatures--to change this country in ways from which it can never recover. And he has the ability to enshrine/institutionalize those changes via a judiciary that he appoints (at every level, not just SCOTUS-to which he is apparently considering adding 2 seats to create a leftist majority). In the 1st 100 days he can effectively shut down free speech and then proceed to do whatever the fuck he pleases, to get around the governmental constraints of our "flawed" founding document.
Face it: nobody worth a damn goes into politics. There's no one out there who can fix what Barry will break. It's over. Make your plans now, save yourself if you can. Don't worry about feeling remorse over having contributed to the death of this country; in Cali it never matters who you voted for.

Dreams are what I have. I'm pretty sure that this country as an organism doesn't have any idea what the kind of leftism that they're ushering in looks, smells or feels like. I don't think this is a realignment, I think it's a temper tantrum.
I hope... and I hate, hate, hate hoping (because it's an awful lot like wishing)... that the tenuous hold the Blue Dog Democrats have on their hotly contested seats will become palsied by the collectivism of the Obama administration. I hope that the clusterfucked legacy of the Bush years domestically coupled with the hoisting of McCain on his own bipartisan petard will convince the Republicans that neo-conservatism and compromise with the left is a frail and myopic ideology and they'll start trying to court the enthusiasm and intellectual decency of the Liberty caucus.
I hope.
If it's over, that's fine too. Either way, this farce is in Act 3.

I voted for McCain/Palin. It was like getting a tooth pulled, but I did it. I don't think McCain would be good for this country but I have more reason to believe Obama would be worse. I almost voted for the Libertarian ticket, but that would have been chickening out.
