Some brief thoughts on what the Glee cast and others can expect in the way of change, from Kurt. Warning: spoilers for the whole season, particularly Theatricality, Funk and Journey.
Jesse/Kurt: I'll start with Jesse, since he's become such an active part of the cast. (;)) To start with, Kurt doesn't resent Vocal Adrenaline. He knows they're good. He didn't see their performance, but there's no reason not to think it was fantastic. That said, it hurt as hell not to even place. There's also the part where he has no option but to assume that Sue voted for VA to win, but I'll cover that in Sue's section.
So yeah, while it hurts like a bitch, Kurt doesn't bedrudge Jesse the Regionals win. However, he does think Jesse's treament of Rachel was way out of line. It's one thing to have never really trusted him, and the "Another One Bites The Dust" funkification was par for the course, so was the TPing the choir room. To accuse ND of being awful to him when they'd just started to believe he'd stay for them for Regionals kind of stung. But to call Rachel up and egg her in their own parking lot goes beyond the group and into the personal. He's fully on team Rachel there.
Sue/Kurt: Let's get the other big one out of the way. First off, YAY! I'm so glad that I wasn't wrong and that Sue likes Kurt (and Mercedes) as much as she can ever like anyone who's not her sister. I think Kurt recognizes in Sue his "no apologies" attitude. If someone crosses them, then that person must go down, one way or another. In that sense, Kurt realizes that Sue has a major hate on for Glee club and, by extension, Will (or vice versa) and the only thing he really can do about it is be good enough that Sue's machinations don't stop Glee from winning. So, while it sucks to be certain that Sue had no considerations for the kids in her effort to take Will down, ultimately he always knew it'd be this way.
What else . . . Kurt's deeply terrified of Sue and he's not going to mince his words about her (just not to her, lol). She's a terrible person; on the other hand, she's the person who took a look at his pear hips and his girly voice, and sent him to sing 14 minutes of Celine Dion in Nationals. Kurt's always had balls of steel, but I'm sure some of his ballsiest moments in the back 9 can be attributed to his new-found confidence as Sue's soloist. So he does also have a good deal of respect for Sue, and the fact that Sue doesn't pretend to be a better person than she is is appreciated.
If Kurt ever found what Sue did for ND at Regionals, I think his respect, love and fear would grow exponentially. XD I think it'd also inspire him to be good enough that Sue could carry out evil deeds to her heart's content, both safe in the knowledge that ND would triumph in the end. Yes, he does like a challenge.
Finn/Kurt: With Mercedes' exit, Finn is Kurt's Most Important Person in camp (and even if Mercedes was still here, it'd be a toss up to be honest). He's incredibly fond of Finn and always will be, but he no longer needs Finn in order to live and breathe. They have to rebuild their relationship in places, but It'll Be Okay. Kurt will also be less afraid of heckling Finn if the situation calls for it, because it's no longer a matter of life and death if Finn doesn't loooove him.
Well, that one was easy.
Rachel/Kurt: Kurt's going to move into her room, now that Jesse is gone from Rachel's room and Mercedes is gone from camp! Rachel needs someone to be solidly on Team Rachel, and Kurt . . . might not really hate her. :P Rachel's not really one of Kurt's favorite people (like Finn and Burt and Mercedes) or even really a friend (like Tina or Artie or Quinn), but there's a lot of history and similarities between them and (Kurt realizes) it's time to use them for good, instead of evil.
Kurt/Puck: Not much to talk about when it comes to canon (read: nothing, heh), so I'll just talk about camp. Anyway, I think Kurt could be civil to Puck in a group setting, like if he's hanging out with Quinn and she invites Puck, Kurt's not going to stand up and leave. However, if Puck insults Beyoncé or Lady Gaga, all bets are off. :P As for one on one situations, Kurt's not going to pretend to like him.
Quinn/Kurt: I used to be one of the people who'd argue that Kurt had a lot of things in common with Rachel (and he does, from major character traits to little details), but in this half season, I've come to think he has some things in common with Quinn too. Still, I think their friendship is mainly based on Quinn's friendship with Mercedes. (And we got some sort of visual confirmation of that in the episode, I think.) It's likely that Quinn and Kurt are close now, as a result of Quinn living at Mercedes' for two weeks. Quinn is probably Kurt's closest canon friend in camp right now.
In general: Kurt has gained more confidence since the Madonna episode, and is also happier overall. He's now certain that he has his father's full support and he has a better idea of who he is and who he isn't. His loneliness has gone into remission a bit, as a result of Finn responding to "A House Is Not a Home" with "Beth." Speaking of Finn! He's no longer crushing on him, so Kurt will be moving on to find someone who can actually reciprocate his feelings this time. Exciting times for me.
Two things: SOMEONE APP MERCEDES. :( I have so many feelings about Kurt/Mercedes, you guys. That I have to open that comm officially being one of them, lol self.
The other is that I'll post a second part about Kurt and gender whenever I'm bothered to write it. o7
