Mmmm Cookies...
Wow...just..wow.
Today has been -incredibly- hectic, and full of random bits of unpleasantness. I started out the day by walking in on a director firing a temp worker...(oops! THAT was a bit uncomfortable) Then had a run-in with one of our vendors claiming we weren't paying him what he was supposed to be getting paid (That one will have to wait for the boss! The vendor forwarded me the email, and I completely understand how he arrived at his conclusion, but I REALLY don't think we're going to pay him double what he actually worked.) And shame on my co-worker for sending out such a vague email regarding money.
On top of those, and the mounds of paperwork left from yesterday, and the general walk in traffic, I've not stopped today hardly at all.
OH, did I mention the -other- event we have going on today? The one that we confirmed rooms for MONTHS ago. That, mysteriously, somehow we're not on the room calendar....Soooo an event with no room....that was fun to fix. Luckily it was a small event, and the folks in the room we -thought- we had were actually done right when we needed to start...so we co-opted the room, and asked forgiveness of the powers that be..who grumbled and growled, but did eventually relent once appropriate board to back of head cookies were applied.
Hehehe..sooo..yeah..cookies! Mmmmmm we have a place in town, Tiff's Treats that delivers hot, fresh cookies along with appropriate milk or ice cream, for a very reasonable fee ;) and you can usually get them within a couple of hours. So I ordered a box for myself *hangs head guiltliy* But after eating the first half dozen I did share the rest with my co-workers ;) I figure everyone can use cookies at 3:00 on a Friday.
And tonight...gaming! Oh, and a friend is moving into the house tonight too. She's staying for about a week before she moves to ...somewhere..I've forgotten where lol. Ohio I think. Hopefully the weekend will be a bit quieter.
Edit: I -probably- shouldn't strangle the receptionist because she doesn't know how to schedule a fed-ex pickup....but can I strangle her because she won't even look into how to do it? (It's not hard, took me all of 2 minutes ...I even GAVE her the phone number) I hate having to do other people's jobs for them *sigh*
