this weekend has been pretty fabulous! it's basically exactly what i needed after the month or so of freaking out about harry potter in all of my spare time. PLUS i haven't done any crafting since leakycon, so that's a nice break. (crafting starts again next week though. i need to fix the sleeves on my pygmy puff shirt, paint helga's cup, figure out how to install a pocket in the dress, make a troll*con shirt, and help kl and nanci with some projects before september. it's all much less work than it sounds though.)

friday night i caught up on rookie blue, which i didn't even realize was back until right before leakycon! y'all, i love my dumb canadian cop show. so much. luke is such a dumbfuck and i'm still over andy's ~issues~ but nash! and sam! and oliver! and everyone else! i just love them all.

then i watched more battlesheep galactica. i'm at the beginning of season three, which is all INCREDIBLY FUCKED UP. i love it. except for all the parts about doctor stupidhair. and the parts about all the dumb religions. and okay, a lot of the parts that aren't about starbuck. whatever. i would never have finished this show when it was airing, is the thing. now i feel invested though, and also i don't want to figure out what to watch next. and also i have a huge crush on kara thrace. #noshame

saturday we went to see captain america (mostly boring! sorry! but the avengers trailer was exciting!) and then hit some thrift stores where i encouraged kl to buy all of the ugly things. that night we saw lauris vidal and damion suomi & the minor prophets, all of whom are still my favorites. we got to the bar early, played some iron man pinball, then settled in to drink our cider and have our faces melted off. as much fun as i had freaking out at the wrock show last week, i had just as much singing along with my favorite band in a small, smoky bar where i couldn't even hear myself cos it was so loud. it was kind of the perfect way to bring the wrock/potter madness to a close, cos it reminded me that i can be just as fulfilled from muggle music and non-nerd enterprises, which i sometimes forget. (i also sometimes refer to it as secular music, because i am a crazy person.)

then today we slept in, i watched some more bsg, and kl made us an amazing breakfast of french toast, chicken/apple sausage, bacon, and fresh berries. we all supervised just to be safe, but she only almost set one thing on fire! she gets the gold star for the day. then we all sat in the living room and listened to old records and read our books or whatever. perfect sunday. if we get caught in a time loop anytime soon, i'd like it to be from earlier today.

(we also ventured out to joanns/party city for craft supplies, which is nice but not how i'd describe a perfect sunday.)

she's crafty!, movies: general, tv: bsg, east forks high at the disco, music: damion suomi, music: concerts, tv: rookie blue, music: wrock
