things! and stuff!
01. dragon*con! i am excited! i am also excited for dragon*con to be over, because i've already picked two crafts i want to make in september!
02. work! ugh! i called out today because i could not deal with my coworkers this morning. another reason to be excited for dragon*con: when i get back, manager will be back from maternity leave so i can stop dealing with everything she's fucked up for the last 9 months! plus we'll be busy again, and i'll be able to go to shows, and then i'll be in wisconsin for a couple of weeks, and then i'll be in jersey for 11 days! aka: i will not be spending too much time in my cubicle for the rest of the year!
04. books! i am reading this book called among thieves because the locke lamora forums i hang out on had a lot of praise for it. and i can't stand it. i'm almost halfway through, and i'm going to put it away so i can try to finish all the books i need to read before d*c. (i am predicting failure for at least one of them.)
i started writing this review and then when i went back to read it i realized it made no sense. BASICALLY, the book is boring. and overflowing with dumb fantasy cliches. and has no strong ladies, even though i'm halfway into the book. i need everyone in the world to never compare it to the lies of locke lamora ever again, despite their superficial similarities. (thieves! fantasy! a medieval-ish world! the authors are both from minnesota! etc!)
05. bsg! i am kind of bored! i have like, 8 episodes left. it's just that everyone is a total asshole from the time kara kills herself until probably the end, and if i wanted to watch a show about a bunch of assholes trying to solve some ~great mystery~ i could have just watched lost. you know? i should have finished two weeks ago. i'll do it before d*c because once i get spoiled i'll never finish, but ugh. someone tell me i'm gonna like the last 8 for some reason! yelling at the people in my computer to shut up isn't really the best motivation.
