i had my first beach night of the year tonight! i'm going to share a very special secret with y'all: the ocean is mighty cold in march. but it is still the ocean, so who cares if my feet seized up on the way back to the car? i had sand and salt and ocean wind and it was, of course, amazing. (i tried to convince hita that we should drive to florida over spring break so that we can get some warm ocean, but she sadly said no.) i especially needed it after my supreme emo bad idea last night (next time i try to read my entries from march 2005, somebody needs to stab me in the face) and my incredibly stupid midterm this afternoon (so so so so stupid).
getaway_machine is making me feel so much better, because still i cannot get over how angry and upset and helpless i feel after tuesday's class.

- spring break begins tomorrow at 3:25 after what my professor promises will be a super-fun lesson on tracking changes in microsoft word. hee.
- my radio show tonight was awesome...until steven showed up. apparently i have a new fan named jimmy, tho!
- thinking about walking into my dean of students office and saying "my class made fun of me because i have an internet wife, so could you smite them?" is going to make me giggle forever.
- i get to see hoenz saturday night. !!!!! i have not seen her since, what, november? fucking ridiculous, man.
- elvis costello is performing in atlantic city in may with death cab for cutie, the dude from green day, and fiona fucking apple. i almost drove off the road when i saw the billboard, hah.
- last year, the first weekend of spring break was one of the best of my life and the second was one of the worst. i'm holding out for "merely decent" this year, and i think i'll get it.
- we were sitting in the argo office tonight, doing our thing, when donna said "btw, did you guys hear that yanni was arrested?" it amuses me so so much that my staff is as concerned with yanni's current life as i am. (we're planning a gag article about him, so it's kind of hilarious that all of a sudden he's in the news.)
- pearl jam tickets go on sale monday and i am very excited about the prospect of maybe buying a pair.
- i made an icon last night and i think it is one of the best things i've ever made, so that's exciting.
- if i had known how beautiful it was going to be today, i would've shaved and worn a skirt. instead i wore my pink flip flops, and that was enough to make me smile all day.
- i decided that i really want to spend the night out on the manasquan jetty one night this summer. (aka, the end of that long strip that sticks out in the ocean.)
- i totally love this song. hahaha shut up!
